Okay, I'm sure there are more, but these are the two today:

1) Most movies would benefit from being seen in the theater.

2) If you saw every movie you wanted to see in the theater, you'd go broke.

The illegal double feature enhances your appreciation of film without destroying your bank account. That said, I don't do it very frequently, usually only every couple months at most. I consider it a generally victimless crime because they are playing the movie whether I'm sitting there or not. It's more victimless, I think, than illegally burning music off the internet. In part because so many fewer people do it.Derek Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13750747272647975591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7877371347086447490.post-793862326377224682011-04-27T06:51:57.917+10:002011-04-27T06:51:57.917+10:00Um...ever thought about just paying for both movie...Um...ever thought about just paying for both movies?

You know, stealing is wrong.DGBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01302995272029761401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7877371347086447490.post-37382266542743694862011-04-27T02:25:23.802+10:002011-04-27T02:25:23.802+10:00Yeah, I went in with good intentions -- wanted to ...Yeah, I went in with good intentions -- wanted to see two indies, and instead saw an indie and a crappy movie made by a guy who used to be an indie director.

With your two indies, I liked both of them, actually, though I feel a lot more passionately about Away We Go.Derek Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13750747272647975591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7877371347086447490.post-7533418989042758472011-04-27T00:13:58.454+10:002011-04-27T00:13:58.454+10:00Ooh - ouch! Especially between those two.
HORNET...Ooh - ouch! Especially between those two.

HORNET was a funny case for me because I could only find one theatre in the city that wasn't playing it in 3-D (I didn;t want to pony up the extra loot for 3-D).

Perhaps I'd have been better off waiting a few weeks until some B theatres started playing it.

I *think* my last DF was AWAY WE GO & THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE. Loved the former, hated the latter, and since I payed for the former that makes it all okay!Ryan McNeilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00440134802928893661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7877371347086447490.post-1466423548048119922011-04-26T06:22:55.642+10:002011-04-26T06:22:55.642+10:00Hatter, you're totally right -- which made my ...Hatter, you're totally right -- which made my Blue Valentine/Green Hornet DF all the more egregious. Because The Green Hornet was in 3D, I *had* to pay for that one/see that one first in order to get the glasses. Thereby depriving the consummate small/indie movie of its justly earned money -- money that The Green Hornet most certainly did NOT deserve.

Shame, shame on me.Derek Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13750747272647975591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7877371347086447490.post-13088087628320460792011-04-26T06:10:56.008+10:002011-04-26T06:10:56.008+10:00I haven't tried doing the double-dip in about ...I haven't tried doing the double-dip in about a year or so, but most of the multiplexes in this town almost beg for it to occur with the way they are laid out.

My biggest rule for the illegal two-fer? Pay for the smaller film that inevitably needs your money more.Ryan McNeilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00440134802928893661noreply@blogger.com
